There’s nothing quite like an unexpected celebrity cameo to perk up an audience full of editors with a creeping case of fashion month fatigue – and this season has had them in spades. It started on night one of London Fashion Week at the Harris Reed show, where the designer called on his friend, Oscar nominee (and former British Vogue cover star) Florence Pugh to fire the metaphorical starting gun with a dramatic monologue delivered on the runway at Tate Britain.
Then there was Goodfellas star Debi Mazar, who traded the Big Apple for Bloomsbury to serve as the QVC-esque host at Completedworks’s live shopping channel-inspired presentation before Mia Khalifa and Ayra Starr popped up on Di Petsa’s autumn/winter 2025 runway later that day. Things really ramped up at Simone Rocha, where acting legends Fiona Shaw and Andrea Riseborough joined London fashion pack favourites Alexa Chung and Bel Powley on the runway, while the likes of Richard E Grant and Lesley Manville walked for Burberry.
Moving on to Milan, Romeo Beckham surprised audiences at the Versace show, where he took to the runway in silver chainmail. In Paris, the celeb contingent was as strong as ever, with Seonghwa setting stan accounts on fire when the K-pop star popped up on the Isabel Marant runway.
Chloé brought back the Paddington on the arms of It-girls Tish Weinstock and Petra Collins, who joined Chung for her second runway appearance of the season. Not to be outdone – and famous for its unexpected cameos – Miu Miu put 17-year-old rapper Nettspend on the runway, alongside actors Laura Harrier, Sarah Paulson and Raffey Cassidy, and singer and fashion muse Lou Doillon.
